helps demonstrate loyalty, integrity and employee activities in companies; in the office, hybrid and remotely.
Why is it important to track employees working from home?
Monitoring remote employees involves more than just tracking goal achievement. It can include:
-
Distribute the load more evenly
-
Transfer tasks to teams that have availability
-
Detect potential problems and improve the working atmosphere
-
Streamline processes
-
Encourage employees who need it most
-
Investigate an employee working with a competitor
What computer data and activities are allowed to be tracked?
Current technology allows for tracking employee activities, such as:
-
Emails and private messages
-
Keyboard and mouse activity tracking
-
Checking the browsing history of the internet browser
Threat Prevention and Risk Management:
By monitoring employee computer activity, it will be easier for employers to detect and neutralize insider threats. Examples include detecting and protecting against malicious activity through automatic activity blocking, user lockout, and remote desktop control. These measures help organizations reduce the risk of compliance violations or data breaches due to employee negligence, lack of security awareness, or risky behavior.
Employee monitoring?
Did you know that employers have the right to monitor their employees during working hours?
Employers are obliged to inform their staff, employees and collaborators of their intention to set up employee surveillance systems. It is strictly forbidden to monitor employees if they are not aware of the situation.
While respecting employees' freedom and right to privacy, employers can interfere in their employees' work by justifying the theft of professional equipment, a lack of activity or simply to keep an eye on working hours. More and more employee monitoring systems are coming onto the market to manage what is also known as employee monitoring.
An employer has the right to inspect and access computer equipment provided to an employee. He or she can consult files on the employee's work computer, with the exception of documents identified as personal by the employee.
To limit and control Internet use, the employer can set up site filtering systems or install virus detection software. Internet connections are presumed to be of a professional nature during working hours, so that the employer can search for and identify them.Consequently, the employee does not need to be on site.
Use of the Internet and IT tools for non-business purposes is usually tolerated, but must remain reasonable.
